2007年6月29日、アメリカ合衆国で初代iPhoneが販売開始され、9月9日の時点で販売台数100万台となったことが発表されました。
2008年1月15日、販売台数が400万台、3月末時点で累計販売台数は540万台、6月9日販売台数は600万台に達したと発表されました。
2008年7月11日、ソフトバンクモバイルがiPhone 3Gを販売。7月14日iPhone 3G の販売台数が3日間で世界で100万台を突破しました。
2009年6月19日、米国などで販売が開始されたiPhone 3GSは、発売から3日で100万台以上を売り上げました。
次に比較をしてみたいと思います。
最初に発売された初代iPhoneは74日間で100万台を突破し、結局１年間で610万台を売り上げました。
そしてiPhone 3Gはそれよりも早く、３ヶ月で690万台を売り上げたのです。
今月１６日、米Apple社は２４日から販売するiPhone 4の予約が、受け付け開始日の１５日だけで６０万台を突破したと発表しました。
このiPhone 4の初日の予約数はiPhone 3G Sの初日の予約数に比べてなんと10倍も多いという。
同社製品の一日の予約件数としては過去最高という。
